Obituary for Patricia Vangel FitzGerald
Patricia Caregeorges Vangel, 82, of Alpine TX (formerly of Canton MA and Tamarac FL), died on Saturday, April 28, 2012, from complications of Alzheimer’s Disease at Central Texas Nursing & Rehab, Ballinger TX. Patty was born in Lawrence, MA, to Paul and Angela Caregeorges. She was a beautician and owned Pat’s Hair Fashions in Canton, MA, for 30 years. She was an accomplished golfer and tenpin bowler and was a member of the Bowling Hall of Fame. She is survived by her husband, Stephen Vangel (Carver MA); daughters Margaret Litterio (Canton MA), Linda MacDonald (Alpine TX) and Stephanie Lambert (Auburn, ME); son David Vangel died in 1994. She also leaves behind her sister Anna Wood (Acton MA), brother George Farfaras (Maryland), sister Stella Mercina Caregeorges (New Mexico), plus grandsons, a great-granddaughter, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Ballinger, 112 S. 7th Street, Suite 2, Ballinger, TX.
Rosary at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 30, at Heritage Family Funeral Home, Ballinger, TX. A Byzantine Catholic Funeral Mass was said by Father Robert Parent in Lewiston, Maine. Burial service at Holy Angels Cemetery, Alpine, TX on Tuesday, May 1st, 2012, at 11 a.m.
