Vera Mae Kraatz 74 of Winters passed away on September 28, 2014. She was born on September 14, 1940, to parents John and Minnie ( Pruser ) Kraatz in Winters Texas where she was a lifelong resident. She worked as an LVN for 35 plus years at the Senior Citizen Nursing Home and many years at North Runnels Hospital, She later spent numerous years as Lake Keeper at Elm Creek Reservoir. She was a lifelong member of Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Winters TX. as where she was a Sunday School Teacher. Vera was proceeded in death by her parents John and Minnie Kraatz, Brother and sister in law John William and Iva Lee Kraatz, Brother and sister in law David and Sue Kraatz, Brother in law Don Marks, Brother in law J.A. Henderson, and Great Grand Daughter Haley Ann Kraatz. Vera is survived by her Son John and his wife Wendy Kraatz, Brothers Kenneth and wife Brenda Kraatz , Lee Roy and wife Kathy Kraatz , Dan and wife Lesa Kraatz, and Fred and wife Margret Kraatz. She also has sisters Margret Marks, and Helen Henderson. Vera also has 7 Grand Children 6 Great Grand Children and numerous Nieces and Nephews. Vera was well loved by all and will be missed dearly. Visitation will be Wednesday October 1, 2014 from 6-8 pm. in our Chapel at Heritage Family Funeral Home in Ballinger Texas. Funeral will take place in Winters TX. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Thursday at 3:00 pm Interment will follow at the Lutheran Cemetery in Winters TX.
