Obituary for Gina Ann Rivera

Gina Ann Rivera
Gina Ann Rivera, age 53, of Ballinger, Texas passed away Saturday May 02, 2009 in San Angelo, Texas.
Rosary will be held at 7PM Wednesday at the Heritage Family Funeral Chapel in Ballinger. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 am Thursday, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ballinger with Rev. Hugh Wade officiating. Interment will follow at the Latin American Cemetery in Ballinger, Texas.
Gina will always be remembered for her overflowing generosity & kindness. She was instantly loved & befriended by every person she met. Gina touched the lives of people in many different ways throughout her life. She was a local jailor at the Runnels County Jail, where she saw the best in everyone & inspired them to see more in themselves. She worked with special needs children as a teachers aide and as a one-on-one with an autistic boy, coaxing from his frightened shell a more vibrant, expressive and social self. In her free time she loved enjoying God’s creations, fishing, camping, boating with her partner and sons. Gina found joy in the simplest of treasures, and was an example of discovering God’s Kingdom through a child’s innocence. She will be grieved as a mother, a companion, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a teacher and a role model.
Gina is survived by her mother Cirilda Luera of Ballinger, Tx., 2 Sons: Patrick Soto and Fiance Gayle Smith of Liberty Lake, Washington and Mark Soto of Kenosha, Wisconsin
2 Brothers: Freddie Lopez of Tennessee and Arturo Lopez of Minnesota. 5 Sisters: Lidia Mireles of Andrews, Tx. , Connie Zepeda of San Angelo, Tx., Elsa Hernandez of Madison, WI, Otilia Rios of Madison, WI , Ida Ibarra of Madison, WI, Numerous nieces and nephews and family and friends.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heritage Family Funeral Home in Ballinger, Texas. http://www.heritagefamilyfuneralhome.com/
