Robert Joel Powell, age 65, of Ballinger, Texas passed away Sunday, March 08, 2009 at his residence in Ballinger. He was born in Ballinger ,Texas September 04, 1943 to Robert (Shorty) & Lily Richardson Powell. He worked for many years in the oilfield and was of Baptist Faith.
He is survived by his wife Patsy Powell of Big Springs, Tx., 2 Sons: Robert Wesley Powell and Jesse Powell both of Ballinger, Tx. 2 Daughters: Betty Soto and Fiance Richard Barrow and Sheryl & Paul Pena all of Ballinger, Tx. 1 Brother: Alvin Powell of Ballinger, Tx. 3 Sisters: Ruphina Hopson of Coleman, Tx., Doris Lara of Robert Lee, Texas and Mildred Sweza of Rock Springs, Tx. Mother of his children : Ann Pearson of Ballinger, Texas; 8 Grandchildren: Bradley Davis, Gilbert Soto, Jon Soto, Stephanie Soto, Michael S. Pena, Brittney Pena, Tristano Pena and Brooklynn Pena and 10 Great Grandchildren.
There will be a time for Visitation for family and friends Tuesday, March 10, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Heritage Family Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at the Robert Lee Cemetery in Robert Lee, Texas with Rev. Bobby Broyles officiating.
