Edward Elgin Day August 15, 1925 - January 21, 2012 Edward Elgin Day, 86, passed form this earth to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on January 21, 2012 at the Central Texas Nursing & Rehabilitation in Ballinger, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Lucille Day and their children Geraldine Day Broyles of Winters, Texas, Katheryn Autenrieth of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Eddie Jesse Day of Rowena, Texas. Edward was born on August 15, 1925 in Coleman County Texas, to Bernice Clarence “BC” and Katy “Catherine” Day. Edward enlisted into the United States Navy and served honorably on the USS Bottineau during WWII. While Serving in the United States Navy he married Lucille “Bates” Day on January 26, 1946. He met Lucille his true love walking down the street and like the song “ Looking Back To See” if she was looking back to see. He attended Brownwood College for 2 years. He was a Farmer, Oil Field Man, and Natural Gas Plant Operator. He was also, survived and blessed with 8 Grandchildren Valerie Wise, Paul Broyles, Terry Lynn Day, Faye Murrell, Micheal Wayne Autenrieth, Edward Paul Autenrieth, Wesley Dusek, Ida Maria Booher and 16 Great Grandchildren Zak Wise, Chas Wise, Nichole Autenrieth, Tabatha Autenrieth, Megan Autenrieth, Justin Autenrieth, Dusty Day, Kacie Day, Cory Day, Jacob Murrell, Hannah Murrell, Hailey Murrell, Justin Dusek, Joshua Dusek, Sarah Booher, and Megan Booher. Gravesite services were held at Silver Valley Cemetery, Coleman, Texas Thursday January 26, 2012, at 12:00 Noon.
